The Tampa Bay Hellenic finished their home schedule with a 4-0 victory against the Richmond Kickers Destiny last Friday night at Ed Radice Park. Richmond Destiny at Hellenic 2009In the 4th minute, Jasmine Johnson took a pass from Sonia Curvelo , and her shot from just outside the box found its mark to start the scoring. Four minutes later, Sarah Chapman put a perfect pass through to Shameka Gordon , giving her a one on one with the keeper. Gordon finished her opportunity bringing the Hellenic advantage to 2-0. There were plenty of missed chances for the rest of the first half, but the score remained 2-0 at halftime.

The second half started much like the first, with the Hellenic adding a goal only four minutes in. Second half substitute, Jo Dragotta , assisted Shameka Gordon in her second goal of the match in the 49th minute of play bringing the score to 3-0 in favor of the Hellenic. The Destiny saw some good opportunities to get on the board in the second half, but came up short. A corner kick headed in by defender Philisha Lewis in the 85th minute rounded out the scoring. With this win, the Hellenic finished out their home schedule with a 5-0-1 record, playing unbeaten at home. Their overall record stands now at 6-1-2.

The Hellenic head out for a three day, three game road trip to Virginia on Friday where they will finish out their season with matches against Hampton Roads, Richmond Kickers Destiny, and the Northern Virginia Majestics.
